Crystal Palace sent an official to monitor Issa Diop during Toulouse’s 1-1 draw against Marseille over the weekend
Crystal Palace’s free fall over the last three months could mean that manager Alan Pardew will look to bring in a number of players to Selhurst Park during the summer as part of a major shakeup to strengthen the squad.
Numerous strikers have been linked with a move to Palace but it seems like Pardew will need to bring in reinforcements at the back as well due to the potential departure of star defender Scott Dann and also due to advancing years of duo Damien Delaney and Brede Hangeland.
Pardew pondering a move for Diop
Now if reports emerging out of France are to be believed, Palace are wasting no time whatsoever in their pursuit for a new central defender by plotting a move for Toulouse youngster Issa Diop.
According to reports from French publication L’Equipe, Palace sent an official to attend Toulouse’s 1-1 draw against Marseille during the weekend to keep a close eye on Diop and that the Eagles are now eager to follow up their interest in the defender during the upcoming summer.
Diop has burst into the scene this season, establishing himself as a key part of the Toulouse backline and the 19-year old has been touted by many in France to become a star in the coming years.
