Crystal Palace are planning an ambitious swoop for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino, according to reports from Express and Star
Following his 20-goal season last term, Saido Berahino was considered as one of the hottest properties in English football and a host of top clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester United were all said to be interested in the striker.
However, West Brom resisted the urge of cashing in on Berahino and the 22-year old had to stay put at the Hawthorns as a result. Berahino was left less than pleased at being forced to stay put and the saga over the summer has clearly affected his form this term.
Berahino has managed only seven goals during the current campaign and having endured a fractious relationship with manager Tony Pulis, the youngster is no longer the first choice striker at the club.
Berahino wanted by Palace
It is now looking ever so likely that Berahino will finally be leaving West Bromwich at the end of the season and despite his struggles, a number of Premier League sides are still willing to take a chance on the promising striker.
Now according to reports emerging out of England, it has been claimed that Crystal Palace are considering a move for Berahino. Palace have sorely been missing a natural goal scorer this season and manager Alan Pardew is in the market to bring in a prolific front man over the summer.
A host of names have been touted with a move to Selhurst Park in recent weeks and it has now been claimed that Palace are eyeing a swoop for Berahino.
Palace are ready to splash the big bucks to land the services of the West Brom star and are hopeful of luring him to Selhurst Park by offering regular first team football.
