Crystal Palace are keen on bolstering their attacking lineup with the signing of Simone Zaza from Juventus, according to reports from Calciomercato
Palace making it into the finals of the FA Cup is most certainly a huge achievement and the club faithful are eagerly awaiting the encounter against Manchester United at Wembley later this month.
Amid the euphoria of reaching the final of the competition though, one should not cast a blind eye to the fact that Palace’s form in the Premier League since the turn of the year has been simply atrocious.
Following the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United over the weekend, Palace have now managed only one victory in their last 19 matches and such form is an alarmingly worrying one.
A fine first half to the season is the only thing that has prevented Palace from being involved in a relegation dogfight and one can be sure that manager Alan Pardew will need to bring about significant changes to his squad if the Eagles are to enjoy an upturn in fortunes next season.
Palace ready to splash big bucks for Zaza
There are many areas which Palace need to improve upon but the most glaring one is in attack. Palace have struggled to find the back of the net on a consistent basis this season and with the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Marouane Chamakh and Frazier Campbell all set to leave, Pardew is in the market to bring in a new attacker.
A number of names have been linked over the past few weeks and now according to reports emerging out of Italy, it has been claimed that the Premier League side are considering a move for Juventus star Simone Zaza.
Zaza is considered as one of the most talented young strikers in Europe but he has struggled for regular first team football at Juventus this season, making only 22 appearances in all competitions.
As a result, it is widely believed that Zaza will be leaving Turin at the end of the season and Palace have been mentioned as one of the likeliest destinations for the striker.
Juventus are not prepared to allow Zaza to go out on cheap though and the reports state that the Premier League giants will need to splash as much as €30million in order to land the services of the 24-year old during the summer.
