Newly promoted Burnley are ready to make a swoop for Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley, according to reports from the Croydon Advertiser
Joe Ledley played a crucial role in helping Crystal Palace earn a top ten finish during the 2014/15 Premier League campaign but following the big money arrival of Yohan Cabaye last season, the Welshman saw his participation on the pitch significantly reduced.
Ledley made a total of only 19 Premier League appearances throughout the course of the campaign and it is clear to see that the former Celtic star is well down the pecking order at Selhurst Park under manager Alan Pardew at the moment.
As a result, it has been widely suspected that Ledley will be leaving Palace upon the end of his participation at the European Championship with the Welsh national team and now according to reports from the Croydon Advertiser, claims are being made that newly promoted Premier League side Burnley are interested in the 29-year-old.
Burnley set to sign Ledley?
Burnley manager Sean Dyche is said to be looking to bolster his squad over the summer as Burnley bid to stave of relegation this time around and strengthening the midfield has reportedly been seen as a priority by the 44-year-old.
Stoke City’s Charlie Adam had recently been mentioned as a target for Burnley and now fresh links state that the Clarets have also shortlisted Ledley as a potential target this summer.
Ledley had entered the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park and given the fact that he only has a fringe player status at the club, Palace cashing in on the midfielder would perhaps make sense for all parties involved.
