Crystal Palace are ready to splash the cash to secure the services of Liverpool flop Christian Benteke, according to reports emerging out of England
Crystal Palace endured a terrible second half to the season last term and one of the main reasons behind the Eagles’ struggles was an inability to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.
As a result, manager Alan Pardew has made it a priority to sign a top class striker this summer and names such as Saido Berahino, Simone Zaza and Fernando Llorente among others, have all been linked with a move to Selhurst Park.
Now in fresh rumors emerging out of England, it has been claimed that Palace are now considering a move for Liverpool striker Christian Benteke.
Benteke wanted by Crystal Palace
Benteke joined Liverpool from Aston Villa on a whopping £32.5 million deal last season but the striker failed to prove his worth at Anfield and increasingly found himself reduced to a fringe player under Jurgen Klopp.
It is clear to see that Klopp does not rate Benteke too highly and the striker could be sold if a good offer comes along.
Given Benteke’s quality, a host of clubs are understandably keen on signing the striker and claims from England state that Palace are ready to splash as much as £19 million in order to secure the services of the Belgian international this summer.
