The agent of Christian Benteke has played down reports that the striker is close to making a move to Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace are currently in the market to sign a new striker and it has widely been reported that the Eagles have set their sights on securing the services of Liverpool star Christian Benteke.
Benteke endured a very difficult debut season at Liverpool last term and as a result, it has been widely expected that the Belgian international will be moving away from Anfield this summer, especially with Palace ready to splash as much as £30 million to complete the transfer.
Benteke’s transfer to Palace is not a done deal
In further developments yesterday, claims were being made that Palace were ready to hand Benteke whopping wages of around £130,000-per-week to lure him to Selhurst Park and a transfer coming into fruition looked very likely.
However in news that will certainly not please the Palace faithful, Benteke’s agent, Kismet Eris, has told Sky Sports that the striker is not close to an exit from Liverpool – contrary to reports.
Despite Eris’ comments though, it is clear to see that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is not a big fan of Benteke and Palace can most certainly still harbor hopes of signing the 26-year-old this summer.
